ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Admissions Officer at Oldham College, you will play a key role in delivering a smooth and positive applicant journey from application through to enrolment. Working within a busy Data Services team, you’ll manage enquiries, carry out data checks, and support recruitment activities, ensuring applicants receive timely, accurate communication and excellent customer service throughout their experience. This role is a 9 month, fixed term contract. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you will:

  • Manage the admissions inbox and respond to all applicant enquiries within agreed timescales
  • Carry out daily quality checks on applications, resolving any issues or missing information
  • Maintain accurate applicant records within college systems (MIS/EBS)
  • Support recruitment and enrolment activities, including Open Days and enrolment events
  • Communicate with applicants via email, phone, and text regarding application progress
  • Coordinate and administer invitations to key recruitment events
  • Process course fee payments and liaise with the Finance team where required
  • Ensure compliance with funding rules, fee policies, and data accuracy standards
  • Carry out duties in line with College policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Strong administrative experience within a fast-paced office environment
  • Excellent customer service skills, both face-to-face and over the phone
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when working with data
  • Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
