About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and learner-centred Programme Tutor to join the Rise Foundation Learning provision at Oldham College. This role focuses on supporting young people who may be disengaged from education, require additional learning support, or need a more personalised approach to learning.

You will deliver inclusive and engaging teaching that develops learners’ confidence, independence, employability, personal development, and progression opportunities. Working within a supportive multidisciplinary environment, you will help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve meaningful outcomes in preparation for further study, employment, or independent living.

Interviews are planned for week commencing 15th June 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and inclusive Foundation Learning sessions tailored to individual learner needs and EHCP outcomes where appropriate.
  • Support learners’ personal development, confidence, employability skills, and readiness for progression into further education, training, or employment.
  • Differentiate learning effectively to support students with SEND, SEMH needs, and barriers to engagement.
  • Monitor learner attendance, wellbeing, progress, and achievement, implementing interventions where required.
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, pastoral teams, parents/carers, and external agencies to provide holistic learner support.

Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or above.
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade 4/C or equivalent.
  • Experience working within Foundation Learning, SEND, alternative provision, or with disengaged learners.
  • Strong communication, behaviour management, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
  • Ability to deliver creative, adaptive, and learner-focused teaching that supports a wide range of learning needs and abilities.
