ABOUT THE ROLE

As Programme Tutor – Personal Training, you will deliver engaging, industry-relevant teaching that inspires learners to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed for successful careers within the fitness and wellbeing industry.

You will create inclusive and supportive learning experiences that enable all students to achieve their potential while developing the practical, professional, and employability skills required by employers. Working collaboratively with colleagues and industry partners, you will contribute to delivering an outstanding learner experience that prepares students for progression into employment, apprenticeships, or further study.

This role is 0.6 FTE, 21 hours per week. 

Interviews to be held week commencing 29th June. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you will:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across Personal Training programmes, supporting learners to achieve positive outcomes and progress successfully
  • Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and inclusive learning experiences that reflect current industry practice and meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Monitor learner progress, attendance, and achievement, providing timely feedback, support, and interventions to maximise success.
  • Maintain strong links with industry and contribute to activities that support learner progression, employability, and positive destination outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to quality improvement activities, curriculum development, and the delivery of consistent high standards across programmes.
  • Carry out duties in line with College policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • A recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or above alongside GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or equivalent).
  • Relevant vocational qualification within Personal Training, Fitness, Sport, or a related discipline at Level 3 or above.
  • Significant industry experience within the fitness, personal training, health, or wellbeing sector.
  • Ability to deliver engaging teaching, learning, and assessment that motivates learners and supports progress and achievement.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships and create inclusive learning environments.
